We’re excited about one of the newest annual festivals coming up in the Golden Isles, and think it’s a great excuse to plan a little getaway to our romantic Bed and Breakfast near the Georgia Coast. The Whiskey, Wine & Wildlife festival will artfully combine some delicious whiskey, wine and beer tastings, coupled with some inspired cuisine from some of the South’s best chefs and local culinary superstars, all with a chance to experience coastal wildlife up-close. To say it will be the best of both worlds is an understatement. Better yet, all the funds raised over this incredible weekend will go to support the programs of the Jekyll Island Foundation. Get in on the fun this winter, and book your room at our luxury Bed and Breakfast, located near Jekyll Island today.
Whiskey, Wine, and Wildlife Festival
The Whiskey, Wine, and Wildlife Festival kicks off on February 7, 2019, and runs the entire weekend. In 2018, it was rated as one of the top 20 events in the South, and 2019 is looking to bring us more of the same. One of the biggest draws to Jekyll Island, which is the smallest of Georgia’s barrier islands, is its exquisite and relatively untouched natural beauty. Jekyll Island has a long and storied history. In the early 1900’s, the Jekyll Island Club was established, and became an exclusive retreat for the world’s elite. Thankfully, the Island was purchased by the State of Georgia in 1947 and turned into one of the most unique state parks in the nation. Today, the island is a composition of picturesque marshlands, expansive ocean beaches, and stunning, protected coastal habitats and their wild inhabitants. The Beach village & town promenade has been recently revitalized, and miles of island habitat lie beyond just waiting to be discovered by generations of visitors, both old and new.
As mentioned before, the proceeds of the Whiskey, Wine, and Wildlife Festival go to benefit the Jekyll Island Foundation. Of the many beneficiaries of this foundation are the Georgia Sea Turtle Center and the Jekyll Island Authority Conservation Program. Tickets for the Whiskey, Wine, and Wildlife Festival are still on sale and discounted until January 31, 2019. There are a variety of events to choose from, including a wine cruise, a master pours class, a dinner and launch party, and so much more.
Once you’re secured your tickets, make sure to book your room at the elegant Horse Stamp Inn Bed and Breakfast, located approximately 30 minutes from beautiful Jekyll Island.
